Hi Everyone

Barbara's funeral took place last week and this was the order of service.

I thought one or two of you may be interested to see her choice of music and so on.

It was a lovely service and many people came from miles away, which was very kind of them.  We collected about £700 for Barbara's favourite animal charities, which is brilliant.  We had the two leaders of a local choir (Voicebox) lead the singing of Waterloo Sunset and they performed Forever Autumn by Justin Haywood, both songs that meant a lot to Barbara.  Autumn was her favourite time of year and the words are especially poignant to me.

This is the Eulogy as prepared by the Celebrant, who was lovely and set just the right tone:

Thank you again for all of your lovely comments and tributes; I know that Barbara would be embarrassed, flattered, amazed and delighted.

Take care and be happy...

Love
Paul (Mr V-B)

That was a lovely program - she would have been so happy with it! I think the Moody Blues song was such a great choice. Thinking of it made me wistful for days gone by, as I'm sure it must have done for you during the ceremony. Take heart with the words of the poem you included - because while they are most certainly gone from our arms, they are always with us.

Dear Paul

Thank you so much for putting up this new post for us.
What a difficult day her funeral must have been for you, but after reading the Eulogy's and poems, I know Barbara was standing right beside you Paul and holding your hand very tightly.

Sadly I couldn't open the "Order of Service" document.
After reading the words spoken from her family I know she was so very loved and though the gap left with her leaving can never be filled, you all have such precious happy joyful memories of times with Barbara to remember.

Take care dear Paul,
friends of Barbara's in Blogland across the world have you very much in our hearts at this time.
Sending love and gentle hugs

PS - I'm sorry Paul - Mina Loves Art was a previous blog of mine that has been deleted, yet Blogger occasionally gets mixed up.
