Christmas Advent Fair

Despite the freezing temperatures here in the UK at the moment, Mr V-B and I braved the cold and went along to the Burford Advent Fair yesterday afternoon.  Burford is a fabulous medieval market town on the outskirts of the Cotswolds and at Christmas time is a magical place with many pretty shop windows and treasures to buy.

There was live music, roasted chestnuts for sale and the lights turned on by Father Christmas himself (!), followed by a procession to the church for carols and a magician for the children.  It made us feel very Christmassy.  We are so lucky to live 5 minutes drive away from such a beautiful little town.

I really need to visit England. I have a blog friend in Wales I'd love to meet and I want to see all these charming little villages for myself. Thanks for an all-too-brief glimpse.

Oh my it's like a fairy tale! For some reason the first picture made me instantly think of Dickens Christmas Carol. How wonderful to have such a magical place to go to, to get some Christmas! And I just love your pictures in the sidebar. I keep trying to click on the fabric pictures to see more. LOL Merry Merry Christmas Barbara and I hope 2011 will be everything you want it to be for you and yours!
